Apple’s event is now over and surprisingly nothing was mentioned on what type of SIM card the iPhone 5 uses. Well, Apple’s website just confirmed the rumors – the iPhone 5 works with the newly announced nano SIM standard.
The nano SIM standard was designed by Apple itself, so its hardly a surprise that the new iPhone 5 utilizes it. Unsurprisingly, though, the previous micro-SIM cards aren’t compatible and if you’re getting the latest iPhone, you’ve got to hope that your carrier offers the new nano SIM cards.
